Workshops & Continuing Education 5-13-08 Updates
*CE Units for RNs & Massage Therapists
The northern California 2007-2008 series of Aromatherapy Certification Training Workshops - course description details below - were held on the following dates:
Educational Instruction
The CCA curriculum was created and developed by ISHA, Inc. which is fully responsible for ensuring that each program is taught by a qualified ISHA instructor. Please see the List of Instructors at ISHA's site for a description of their individual expertise and qualifications.
ISHA's educational offerings are inspired by Christian traditions, drawing from Old and New Testament healing practices. Our northern California workshops Coordinating Team has a diverse spiritual outlook. Because of this, we consider the training's focus to be on "spirituality and healing" in a inclusive universal sense.
Some folks considering the CCA training have expressed reservations about the Christian emphasis of the CCA-301 workshop title / description. If you are hesitating, please don't be put off. Claramae Weber and Linda Smith, our class instructors are Christian, holistic RNs.....but they aren't teaching religion. The only conversion they're interested in, is getting students informed, confident, and enthused about using therapeutic essential oils!
The Jewish & Christian Biblical traditions of "anointing with oils" and prayerful, hands-on-healing are shared in a historic context, which crosses all cultures / spiritual traditions, and are a revival of ancient traditional knowledge that used to be part of community wisdom. Knowledge and traditions that over centuries have been usurped by priestly classes & by some physicians in our westernized "scientific" medical culture. We hope anyone with a compassionate spiritual orientation feels welcome to come and learn with us.
CCA 301: Sent to Heal and Anoint – The Use of Essential Oils
Instructor: Claramae Weber / Helper: TBA
Completed / SEPT 28th - 30th (Friday evening - all day, Saturday & Sunday)
Completed / OCT 19th - 21st (Friday evening - all day, Saturday & Sunday)
Just as early people used their hands and the plants of the earth to heal one another, we can learn from these ancient traditions of healing with aromatherapy and compassionate touch combined with your personal spiritual connections.
Anointing for healing has both ancient and modern roots. This 20-hour (2-1/2 days) course explores healing traditions of essential oils from ancient cultures, Biblical times, famous medieval healers, and modern usages. (Please bring your Bible, if you have one, so we can share excerpts about the oils.) Many of these aromatic oils will be described, along with their healing properties relevant for our modern lifestyles. The science of aromatic oils and their vibrational frequencies will be explored.
In this course, students integrate essential oils with heart-centered healing energy techniques through various guided exercises. Groundwork is laid in this course for those continuing in the certification in aromatherapy program.
