Hi Sophie ~ Glad you found our site. It’s important to state that though I’m a certified clinical aromatherapist, I’m not licensed to give medical advice.

However, I would be happy to do research for you from my personal & professional resources on how GERANIUM (Pelargonium graveolens) and other therapeutic essential oils can be used to help dissolve and pass gallstones. This would be as a pre-paid consultation. There are also dietary approaches that may help you as well. I would assemble all the information for you to proceed with as you see fit. Let me know if you are interested.

I read on a website that this oil may cause decreased blood flow and be a problem for people with risk of stroke. However, I cannot find any further information on that topic. Is that a true risk?

Angela ~ I have not heard of this issue before with Rose Geranium EO, but would be happy to do a bit of research to see what I can find. It would be helpful if you could give the website where you read the information, so I could start there.

It may take a few days to look into this. We’re are in the midst of moving from CA to AZ. Needless-to-say I’m not going to be at my computer during the transition.

Hi again Angela ~ My favorite reference says Geranium can be used to increase and improve blood flow. In the case of hemorrhage, Geranium essential oil may help stop excess bleeding…so it seems unlikely that it would be a danger for folks at risk of stroke unless their vascular system has weakened walls (aneurisms / varicose veins, etc.) which could present a risk.
